About the Creator
Charlecia Joy is an artist, art educator and the founder of Stapledon Arts, an inclusive art supply company. Joy began creating art at an early age, which led her to a career in the visual arts. As a Black Woman, she saw a lack of diversity as she journeyed throughout higher education and fine art spaces. As a result, Joy decided that art education would be her vehicle to provide representation in the arts. Joy founded Stapledon Arts with a mission that Black & Brown communities be empowered through seeing representation, having access to inclusive art supplies and receiving support in activating their creative skills to positively impact the world around them. In 2022, Stapledon Arts developed its founding product Melanin Series - Skin Tone Paints.
